From early March 2022, the SSUU launched intensive consultations with the World and European Student Sports Associations at all levels.
Literally starting February 24, all international educational and student organizations and associations expressed support for Ukraine in its fight against the invaders.
In the first days of March 2022, both international governing organizations of university sports suspended membership of the aggressor power and its closest ally, handing Ukraine all quotas for all types of sports.
But how will the national and other teams of Ukraine’s Universities be able to set up a proper training routine and eventually travel to China and Poland to participate in the Games?
On the one hand, the European University Sports Association, led by General Director Adam Roczek, took the initiative to create a Fund to help the Ukrainian Union.
However, it immediately became clear that the Fund’s proceeds would not cover expenses in full.
In such a situation, President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine personally decided to do everything in his power so that the national teams could take part in the Universiades.
The relevant executive bodies have been assigned a range of tasks to this end.
At the same time, it was obvious that without external help, organizing the process of preparation and the trip itself would be an extremely challenging endeavor.
Aware of the experience and reputation of Superheroes Agency, the SSUU leadership addressed the team with a request to consider providing assistance and support in preparing the Union and teams for the Universiade.
Without hesitation, Founders and Managing Partners of the Superheroes.Marketing Agency, Taras Horbul and Anatoliy Kompanichenko, decided that all required work will be done as quickly as possible and free of charge, as a gesture underlining Superheroes' social responsibility values.
In early April 2022, the Superheroes team kicked off preparatory work, and on May 4, 2022, a joint Superheroes and SSUU working group was created.
Two main tasks were formulated:
1.To develop sponsorship packages and launching negotiations with potential sponsors – Superheroes’ partners in Ukraine and beyond.
2.To develop identity and attempt to produce an original sport kit.
The first version of the pitch to potential sponsors was conceived just 5 days into the start of our work.
